Youth Council Holds Walk Through Black History Month Exhibit

February 28, 2026

The NAACP Arcadia-Bienville Youth Council hosted a successful walk-through Black History Month Exhibit, featuring a variety of engaging and educational displays. Attendees experienced exhibits highlighting influential Black figures, historic milestones, and notable inventions that continue to impact everyday life.

From civil rights pioneers to cultural icons and innovators in food and science, each presentation reflected research, creativity, and a strong appreciation for Black history. The exhibit offered a meaningful opportunity for the community to learn, reflect, and celebrate these lasting contributions.

February is Black History Month, and this year marks 100 years of honoring the contributions of Black individuals.

In celebration, the NAACP Arcadia-Bienville Youth Council will host a Poster Presentation & Exhibit on Saturday, February 28, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Arcadia Housing Authority Center.

Members of the adult unit are invited to participate by researching an invention created by a Black inventor and bringing the item or a replica for display during the exhibit. Participants should also be prepared to briefly discuss both the invention and the inventor.

Please contact Dr. Caroyl Townsend at 318-278-0904 if you plan to participate.
