Healthy Aging Conference

The Arcadia Bienville Unit has completed its first annual Health Aging Conference. Over 113 seniors were hosted during the March, 5th event.

This year’s theme, “Moving Through Life with Health, Grace, and Power,” focused on empowering individuals with the knowledge and resources needed to age well and maintain a healthy, active lifestyle.

Participants received valuable information on important health topics including:
• Arthritis and Joint Pain
• Movement and Staying Physically Active
• Dementia and Alzheimer’s Awareness
• Prostate Care and Men’s Health
• Menopause and Women’s Health
• Health Screenings and the importance of Knowing Your Numbers
• Chronic Disease Prevention and Management

Participants enjoyed exciting door prizes, great conversations, and meaningful connections with community members dedicated to improving their health and well-being.

Branch members, are thankful for the speakers, partners, volunteers, and attendees for helping make this event impactful. Together, we can continue moving through life with health, grace, and power.

Healthy Aging Conference Scheduled

The Arcadia-Bienville NAACP Unit is pleased to announce its Healthy Aging Conference that will be held Thursday, March 5, 2026 at the Eugene Smith Event Center in Arcadia, Louisiana. The conference begins at 8:30 AM and a continental breakfast will be available. The conference is free and open to the public.

This is a community-level approach to address health disparities which impact the health and well-being of adults in our community. The conference’s theme is Moving Through Life with Health, Grace, and Power. The workshops presented throughout the day aim to promote knowledge and understanding of practices to enhance the aging experience, and to identify community resources that address the needs of middle age to older adults. Developing and maintaining healthy aging practices throughout the lifespan contributes to greater resilience and opportunities to thrive as we age.
