On April 11, 2026, the NAACP Arcadia-Bienville Branch Education Committee hosted a Praxis Workshop at the Bienville Parish Library in Arcadia, LA. The workshop was designed to provide support and prepare area teachers for teacher certification.
Ms. Mary Wilks is the Chairperson of the Education Committee, and organizer for the event.
Fourteen participants attended, including educators from Bienville Parish and one participant from Lincoln Prep School. B & R Consulting Agency provided the workshop content and training. The session was facilitated by Tamara Ross and Keywana Baker. NAACP members, President McArthur Simmons and Mr. Edwin Mason, also stopped by to greet and encourage participants.
The workshop was held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:50 a.m. Attendees were provided with a continental breakfast and a to-go lunch.
