The NAACP Arcadia-Bienville Youth Council sponsored its Back-to-School Bash on September 15, at the Eugene Smith Event Center. The evening featured “Youth Real Talk”, with youth panelists sharing candid conversations about school success, choices and leadership. School leaders and board members also participated in the event, sharing in 60 seconds, “My Role & Why It Matters to You.”
Evening activities also included four rounds of bingo, prizes, music, and plenty of food and fellowship. The event was sponsored by NAACP Arcadia-Bienville Branch Education Committee, chaired by Mary Wilks, and the Youth Council, with Youth Council advisor, Dr. Caroyl Townsend. Refreshments were served by the WIN (Women in NAACP) Committee, chaired by Sheryl Townsend. Special thanks to Cambri for her famous Cambri’s Lemonade.
